Let's see, I bought my iPhone 3GS in March for the "discounted" price of $199.99, which by the way, included re-newing my contract for another 2-years. I love my phone and aside from the crappy service that is AT&T, I have no complaints. That said, had I really thought Apple would drop the 4G as soon as June, 2010 I would have waited. My rational was that with the launch of the iPad, Apple wouldn't release the one-two blow in the same year. I mean, after all they would want time maximize sales of such a "wonderful" product (I can see the Apple fan boys with pitch forks now due to my sarcasm) like the iPad right?
Well folks, all's I know is that with the latest news coming out of the Walmart camp (compliments of Gizmodo) detailing such a generous reduction in the price of the 3GS iPhone, the only time Apple has done this with their iPhones is when they're about to drop the next generation phone. The 3GS at Walmart...who knew! And for the price they're selling it for - if you have been thinking about getting an iPhone and are currently not an AT&T customer -
DO IT NOW!
Here is why:
1. Read my blog/post regarding AT&T and it will explain the fee spike and how it affects new subscribers.
2. Because the 3GS for the low price (click on the link for pricing) will be released at the end of May, at which point you have 30 days to return your phone for another or cancel altogether without penalty. The iPhone 4G is said to drop mid-June. You see where I'm going with this?
