Word on the street is Apple will do something unprecedented this year and rather than release an actual new revolutionary phone, they will (allegedly) focus on their new operating software (iOs) and that will be what is unveiled this year in lieu of an actual new phone.
Como say what?!?
It’s also being reported by MacRumors that the next phone may be called the iPhone 5; however, it will as stated above, focus primarily on the new iOS. If any of this proves to be true, it will definitely be the first time Apple went from 1 number to the next without a major change. By this I mean, with the 3GS, they simply added the “S” and improved certain areas of the phone. When they went to the “4” they changed the phone in many important ways; therefore, I would argue that the next phone will be some type of similar naming convention. If not, if Apple calls it the iPhone 5, it will definitely be a first for a business model they’ve gotten many of us accustomed to.
Well, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) draws near (this is when Apple usually unveils things or information is leaked), and we can only wait and see what Apple will bring.
Here’s to hoping the iPhone 5 is revolutionary and not just a software upgrade. After all, this is no time for Apple to get complacent.
